I think you could be right McDink, but its not really a point that needs to be made is it? After all you only have to look at the vast variations in buildings even in a small area to see that the styles are taken from many places outside of Scotland as well as within!

You got it. The Somerset Gothic-pinnacle shape evidently was seen in Burgundy 15th cent, the time of Rosslyn. The ancient Celtic/ Gaul culture probably persisted in church details, as Burgundy today has churches with "Gallo Roman" pillars. The unity of the Danu legend of Scythians and Irish suggests that 1). Scythians migrated up the Danube and/or 2). Scythian style was copied and diffused into Gaul. Then Scythian style may have been in early clan culture, and re-inforced in 15th cent by visiting the ancient homelands in Gaul.
