If you want to gain an insight into Edinburgh's social history then it is better to consult a few books or websites dealing specifically with that topic. Organised street gangs didn't exist before the twentieth century and before that you had the odd groups of criminals like deacon Brodie and his associates in the eighteenth century although they weren't organised gangs in the sense that you mean.

Thank you. I had a friend give me a link to some Scottish historian's site, and I checked out two books on Edinburgh history-both books have chapteres on Mob Rule and the Keeley Gang.

Question for everyone

Seriously, I'm interested in finding out what Street Gangs came from Edinburgh. I would rather get all the information at once, instead of piecemailing it. Who should I ask?

Does anyone here know of any Scottish historians I should ask?

You and Lithgae shouldn't say that what I'm asking is impossible, and you shouldn't be negative. I went to a Canadian forum and asked for Canadian Street gangs from the 14th to the 21st centuries-and such a list was providd. I don't undwerstand why you people are trying to give a hard time-especailly Polwarth.
And no, my request is not eccentric-I want to know this information for my comic book. The more I know about a particular areas hiostory, the more I cvan put into my book.
