Thousands of Scots settlers fought for American Independence to get rid of London rule meanwhile on the other side the English I mean British used scots as front line troops to try and keep America under the rule of a government in England. Well done to these scots freedom fighters because no matter how much brainwashing goes on it can never be wrong to fight for freedom for all nations including your own. I would like to take this opportunity to curse those so called scots hypocrites who live in colony scotland now who support freedom for every nation in the world except their own.

I hope that Scots and Americans together will have the opportunity to celebrate Scotland's Day of Independence in the not so distant future.

Our Day Will Come!

Meanwhile...Happy Independence Day USA!

Those issues would be discussed in the International Politics forum and not the History forum then?

Err..well, no. I was referring to more pertinent aspects of Scottish history rather than International Politics.

Aspects that don't include emotive language like 'cursing' the Scots who 'support freedom in all countries other than their own'. If this forum is about History, as you rightly pointed out, then that kind of stuff has no place here surely?

Ben C, I think you should note that the original message was posted on the 4th of July American Independence Day and I think its in the right column the history column because its regarding a point in history when scots were involved in fighting for freedom. Maybe you should join that other forum http://www.whatswrongwithbritain.com (probably to much to list here)

I agree that Ameriacn Independence is an important historical subject. My issue, as I said before, is 'cursing' Scots who are against splitting away from Britain. My girlfriend is Scottish and pro-independence. I have other Scottish friends here who are anti-. I think you should probably reserve your 'curses' for people (and subjects I suspect) you know.

PS. "All people have a right to fight for Independence" as you said above. Hmmm...What about Iraq? (sorry, politics I know but I couldn't let that pearl go)
