In a nutshell....
The Jacobites were the followers of King James (Old Pretender) and his son, Charles Edward Stewart (Bonnie Prince Charlie). The Jacobite Uprisings were the attempts made by Jacobites to ensure the re-instatement of the Stewarts as monarchs. They were unsuccessful. The 1745 Uprising ended with the Battle of Culloden. |

http://www.saorsamedia.com/about/ Note that North British Scotch historians never have taken the trouble to learn Gaidhlig, our true Scots language. Note also that Polwarth has never taken the trouble to learn Gaidhlig. Why take heed of her opinions? At a time when our true Scots language is under threat of extinction, Polwarth is a cultural traitor. |

Ignore the numpty! Some of us on here doubt that Raingannnnnnn whatever is a Scot. I'm a lowlander. Gaelic is not my first or even second language. English is my first and Lallans is my second. Lallans is the language of the lowlander Scot. [Edited by Polwarth on 25th June 2005 at 23:45] |
