:: laughing:: I too am frustrated with the mystical aspect of Rosslyn and the Templars' - since history just does not support any of the rubbish. But it is amusing at times.

well, the Da Vinci Code effect?

I loved the book but got scared about those consequences. Though I wondered why it was not shot down in Bible Belt right away.

From the inner edge of the outer door
at thirty feet of old Scotch measure
the passage there, that's made secure
leads to holy Roslin's treasure (Walter Scott)

Want to give it a try?

Well, there is a village in France called Rousillion, this sounds so similar, who knows if the whole thing just got mixed up. Or maybe the man on the moon knows the secret.

Funny, funny.Maybe the grail is nothing but a cask of really old and good Scottish whisky, hehehe. LOL This would be worth the hunt, huh?

Is this Dan Brown book really worth a read? I am not really a fan of modern books, so tell me what you think, please.

I loved this and others books of him.

If you are a fan of fast paced, whodunnits with twisted plots the book is for you. He writes intelligently and it's fun to probe the truth and fiction.

You should not take EVERYTHING literally though. He writes fictions and not documentary. I guess that's what many forget.

Almost like some people like to ask reading Harry Potter whether there is magic after all.
Harry Potter fans love disecting her books letter by letter not only to find clues but also to find flaws and slip ups.

My twopence.

Rosslyn Chappel has always been of interest as the design and history has always intriged people long before the book came out. The apprentice pillar and the many carvings have always been a talking point. There are many stories, rumours and tales to be told about the chapel.
It is certainly worth a visit.

Roslin Chapel

Roslin Chapel or to be correct, the Collegiate Church of St. Matthew. Was never completed. It was also partially destroyed by General Monk in the Civil War in Britain.
The Templars had monestaries in England and Scotland. It is not known whether Roslin was one of them, as there is nothing on file to say that it was. The original chapel was build in 1446, by the son of Sir Henry Sinclair(Earl of Orkney), Sir William Sinclair. The garbage about there being a vault containing the Holy Grail and Templar gold brought away from France, under some part of the present building is so much stuff! There has been not only the Da Vinci Code but other material about the mystery of the chapel. At present it is a working church of the COS (Church of Scotland) - Anglican Church or Episcopal Church .
If you want to go see it, there is bus service from the central bus station in Edinburgh. There is also the ruins of Roslin Castle.
The Chapel is presently being restored. The only graves are those of the present owners. The original Sinclair graves are unmarked.
