I am interested in the McLellan/MacLellan kights of the 1300 through the 1600's. I have found mention of some sixteen MacLellan kights while doing research into my connections with the MacLellan clan. However I can not seem to find a listing of these kights' names. There is also a story that was told by my Great Grandfather and my Grandfather that two or more of these kights were Templers. I have even found mention of a MacLellan that fought with William Wallace in 1298 at Falkirk. But this man, Sir John MacLellan de Bondeby,is not mentioned as being a kight or if he is just a large land owner. Can anyone guide me in the right direction to finding these people and where I might find out if some of them were indeed Templars.

Anyone with the title "Sir" in front of his name is, by definition, a knight. This would include the Sir John MacLellan you mention.

Maclellan Templars

I see this is posted some time back. Don't know if you keep a current check on it. As for the Maclellan templars, you will only find record of two. The templars were "officially" disbanded after that. But with templar tradition, the objectives would have been passed "unofficially" to the remaining fourteen, and actually, on down the family, generation to generation. Current templars have no connection with the Masonic Templars, but are decendents of original Templars. Somewhere I have the names of the other fourteen knights. If I locate it, I will post it here for you.
