abbots hall in fife

i am searching for any information on abbots hall in fife. where a ancestor was christened in 1849.... can anyone tell me more on this....

Abbotshall is an area of Kirkcaldy in Fife, maybe something to do with that.

However, the Fife Parish index states: ABBOTSHALL: (abbots-hawl) A hall or residence of the Abbot.(in this case of Dunfermline).

I'll hunt around a bit and see if I can get a more precise location.

From what I can see, Abbotshall was a large parish just adjacent (west) to Kirkcaldy. Certainly a large area of the present town of Kirkcaldy is known as Abbotshall, and there is a parish church there (now part of Kirkcaldy parish). I hope that some of these links may prove useful to you:
