'Prince' Michel lafosse

I take great exception that this little belgian ex-shop assistant has managed to hoodwink not only loads of gullible foreigners, but even some native Scots... A brilliant Irish site has done a fairly full expose of of Mr Lafosse's antecedents....

It is being considered in Iraq at present. Its not definite, but they are considering restoring the Iraqi royal family and creating a constitutional monarchy.

Isn't it odd how Americans like foisting royalty on others (Iran, Afghanistan, for example) while not bending their own knees to princes?

Re: 'Prince' Michel lafosse

Well, you know my opinion about Jacobitism and all that, but even from that point of view I have to say that what this !Ahem!!! "Prince" Michael has dared to do is a lash in the face of all those who have fought, died and suffered for the Stuart cause.

There are no living legitimate descentants of the Royal House of Stuart.

If Scotland had need for a new Monarchy, I know there is a codex of old laws to say how a new King would be "installed". But if that really is the way to choose???

Does it matter what monarchy Scotland has? Don't worry, when you're independent you can remain a monarchy if you wish. England will become a Republic. The sooner we get rid of Scotland the better.

Oops, someone here does like the Scots, it seems...
Well, I think the discussion is not really if Scotland will have a monarchy or not - as far as I know, the Scots would really leave Queen Elizabeth II. gladly to the English...
