Hi Babz, I'm sorry to hear about your grandson. I cannot imagine being deaf, nor having a deaf child... but when I look at the many problems/illnesses that a child can have, loss of hearing is one that would almost be a blessing in comparison to some. I have very close friends who have a deaf son, who is now a very active typical 12 year old boy. Bonnie (the mother) is coming to my house tomorrow morning so I will mention this to her and ask her what she thinks. Also, I could give you her email address Babz. I'm sure she and her husband would love to speak with you and your daughter about this. I know that it was hard for them, not having people to talk to about this. And they love to share with others now, to teach some things that they have learned along the way. I'll be praying for you all, and I wish the best for you.
Love, Rach |

Thanks Rach for your message and the follow up chat we had on yahoo
I will mail your friend sometime today and also mail the friend of scotland4ever. I do think that all the information I can gather will be helpful to myself and Alison. Thanks also to you Charlie I will look in there today. It is help with the practical things that I need as I was telling Rach. You are right Rach about deafness not being as bad as some of the other illnesses of others, I have a nephew who is blind from birth and that to me is far worse. I saw how his mum struggled to ensure he has a normal life as possible.
