I made it through a cold with very minor symptoms.
My son (4) had a cold last week. I immediately started echinacea and 2000 of C's. Sunday I got a slight sore throat. Taking the echinacea and C's and resting all day on Mon and Tues (feeling ok, but still knowing the bug was waiting in the wings) Tues. night taught my class. Wed. felt like normal. Never got the bad effects of a cold. I'm a believer in echinacea, vit. C, and rest. Try when you are around someone that has a cold or when you first feel the first signs of a cold. Let me know how it worked for you. |

Hi talbert, I used to get colds quiet alot, but now, not even a sniff for two years. What I do is squeez half a lemon into a mug add a teaspoon of pure honey and sugar, then top up with boiling water. I drink this every day insted of tea or coffee.

Hi, for colds try a slice of lemon, chop up some ginger, cover with boiling water and add a teaspoon or two of honey, works wonders! I had M.E. for seven years and caught every cold, flu etc around and now I'm recovering I kinda want to avoid all those nasties so I drink tons of the above and it seems to do the trick, touch wood! The ginger helps the immune system, but a lot of people don't like the taste, my advice build up your ginger intake gradually and you'll get used to it!! Echinacea works wonders too and take it for two months and them have a week off, it works best like this apparently! Also if you get any bug, virus, cold, flu try to avoid any dairy products, my homeopath tells me to do this any time I get ill, as the dairy gives you more mucus(yuck, sorry!) and the germs feed on the dairy products! Also if you get a bad cold try pinapple juice with lemon juice in it, another tip from my homeopath! Hope these work for all the Scotland.com fans!
