Does anybody have any tips on how to stop smoking? Ive smoked for the last 20 years & I suppose I've tried to stop about a dozen times without sucess.

I know its killing me but I still can't do without that first fag in the morning, Ive tried the patches (the don't light too well) and the chewing gum.

I know its will power but sorry I don't have any!

cheers Al

Question

When I saw the thread title, I thought "oh, that is useful -perhaps it says - "the easy and perfect answer has been found". No such luck, then.

Oh well, will also hope for the arrival of people with wise advice, now. And stupidly, still about to have another fag (only 'cos it still amuses some Americans).

That is my (feeble) excuse and I am sticking to it!

Thumbs up Hope this helps!

I've heard that sipping water when you get a craving for a cigarette helps, not being a smoker myself I cannot comment on how useful this is but anything to help you guys succeed in your quest to give up the evil weed is, I hope, a help!

Lots of Luck, if it gets real bad try http://www.bored.com to help take your mind off it!

How to stop smoking

Well, I was 'forced' into going to see a hypnotherapist by my non-smoking husband.... Have to say, haven't been able to light a fag from that day to this .... even now, when I try to light a cigarette, I am physically unable to do so - I've even tried lighting them from a gas burner, but to no effect!

No-one is a bigger sceptic than me - ex-nurse etc.... BUT, the I am living proof that it works (in some cases).
