Ok i was prepared for all the usual stuff, the teething the colic et al, but nothing can prepare you for seeing your child hooked up to drips and monitors every few months.

The good news is that after all the tests were done nothing serious was found but the bad news is that it can still happen at any time and my son was in hospital again in March this year.

My son is 10, this started when he was 10 months old and they still don't know the cause.

Has anybody else any experiences like this?

My nephew

Hey Pebbles,
My nephew had a lot of trouble when he was little. It started when he was about 3 months. He got phenonia (probably spelled wrong) from then on they told my sister he wouldn't make his 1st birthday (which he spent in hospital)his first steps were in hospital. His first words were medically related. His lungs would collapse every time we turned around it seemed. At least 2 or 3 times a year.
He had a bad heart and he was very suseptable to everything going. He had openheart sugery when he was 4. They had to cut out his ribcage and hooked him to a pump so they could remove his heart and work on it seperate. Weird eh?
Well that was almost 30 years ago. I am sure much has changed since then. He is married (seperated) 2 healthy children and he just had his valve replaced about 1 1/2 years ago. After all this time it was starting to leak etc.

That was different...they knew what his trouble was. It must be so scary not knowing what it is and knowing it could come back at any time. Have they checked his toxic levels? I am such a believer in our environment. Even the carpet we walk on can be deadly to some.
Good luck and I will send you some good vibs.
Momma

Toxic Levels?

I don't think that is something that gets checked over here.

I am actually letting my boy go on a residential school trip tomorrow for the first time.

Cutting the apron strings is very hard for me to do!!!
