* While the risk of breast cancer increases with age, all women are at risk for getting breast cancer.

* Most women who get breast cancer have no family history of the disease. However, a woman whose mother, sister, or daughter had breast cancer has an increased risk.

* Just because you do not have a mutated BRCA1 or BECA2 gene, you can still get breast cancer. About 90-95 percent of women who get breast cancer have an inherited form of breast cancer or a mutated BRCA1n or BRCA2 gene.

* A majority of women diagnosed with breast cancer have no known risk factors outside their gender. Al women are at risk.



Because the cause of breast cancer is not fully known, there is no way to absolutely prevent it. Follow these recommendations for early detection and the best treatment options:

* Yearly mammogram: Every year starting at age 40
* Clinical breast exam: At least every three years for women in their 20's and 30's; every year for women 40 and older
*Monthly breast exam: Starting at age 20

hi, i quite agree with you.The rate of survival when it comes to cancer lies in the early detection.If the disease is diagnosed on time,and proper medical treatments are adhered to,then we would see the survival rate of cancer patients increase.Thanks for your post.
