Getting back to the main topic. Many Americans are obese... While America is a 'rich society'... that wealth doesn't trickle down to most Americans Most of the Americans who are in poor health are just that... poor. Eating healthy in the US costs more than buying processed foods. It's cheaper to buy Hamburger Helper... and 75% ground round... than to opt for the Organic, no steroid free range chicken and the pesticide free spinach. I hope that one day, healthier foods can become more economically accessible. A single mother will pay her rent before she increases her food bill.

Does eating cheese from a can count as eating food from a can?
I try to stay away from fatty foods and spoil myself once every two months. I'm 5'4" and only 139lbs. I'd say that's healthy enough. Though I wont touch SPAM, I do like cooked Bell Peppers, I'll eat an Avocado as a deliscious snack because they are just that WORTH IT. MMMmmm, just even thinking about one makes my mouth drool... I think i'll go out and get one later tonight!

American Health

The use of the phrase "rich society" is meaningless. There are rich people and poor people. There are healthy poor people and rich sick people and vice versa. The problem with the USA is the endless fighting in members of congress. Overreaching legislation and stubborn legislators that only know the word "no". I suggest we look at their records and throw them out at time of their reelection. The President has shown the way and congress needs to get off their b**t.
