A study found that people who ate 500 extra calories of cocktail peanuts daily for 2 months didn't gain any weight. The good fats, fiber, and protein in the nuts may have been so filling that the people ate less the rest of the day. For 500 calories, you can have 3/8 cup of cocktail peanuts or 5/8 cup of almonds, pecans, or walnuts.
