hi everybody,

i don`t know if TINNITUS is the same word in english:

i have a sound in my ear(head) for more then one month (24hours a day...).
i asked several doctors and everybody told me another reason for this (stress, problems with the back..), but nobody knows for sure and how to react!!

i don`t know what to do, i only know that i can`t live with this my whole life!!!!
if you have heard about some methods to cure "this" please let me know.... i am so desperate....

sincerely Tanni

Hi Tanni, I have been living with this condition for years and it isn't pleasant...doctors say there is nothing they can do for it! some say its brought on by stress, it does get worse if your stressed, I haven't heard about the back problems though! some say medication can make it worse! there really is no cure Sorry! I have a radio on 24 hours a day I find that helps a little I also sleep with it on because the ringing/ sound is awful!

Do you hear a ringing noise in your ears that doesn't go away? This maddening noise, called tinnitus, affects approximately 17% of the world's population. Many people are so seriously bothered by tinnitus that living a normal life is not possible. Tinnitus can interfere with concentration, work, sleep, relaxation, normal communication with others, and tinnitus can lead to psychological distress. There’s no known cure for tinnitus.

Tinnitus Symptoms
Imagine hearing a ringing noise in your ears or head that sometimes doesn't go away. This maddening noise, called tinnitus, can range in volume from a ring to a roar. Some people hear tinnitus as a buzzing, hissing, roaring, whistling, chirping or clicking instead of–or in addition to–ringing. Each person has a unique version of tinnitus. Tinnitus can be intermittent or constant, with single or multiple tones and tinnitus’ perceived volume can range from subtle to shattering.

Most people today will experience tinnitus at some time in their life. You might notice tinnitus after being exposed to loud music or harsh noises. The noise exposure is over, but there's a tinnitus ringing in your ears. In America alone, as many as 50 million people today say their ears ring. About 12 million have tinnitus severe enough to seek medical attention, and 7 million people are so seriously bothered by tinnitus that living a normal life is not possible. Tinnitus symptoms can, in fact, interfere with concentration, work, sleep and relaxation, normal communication with others, and tinnitus can lead to psychological distress. Many tinnitus sufferers become markedly depressed because of the constant and bothersome noise.

Since tinnitus might be a symptom of another health problem, see your doctor for any condition which may require his/her services. Your doctor may refer you to an, an ear, nose, and throat doctor. Another hearing professional, an audiologist, can measure your hearing. Caffeine, tobacco, alcohol, aspirin, antihistamines, and prescription or over-the-counter medications can aggravate existing tinnitus. Although there remains no cure, tinnitus symptoms can be overcome. RingStop™ is specifically designed to safely relieve and prevent tinnitus/ear noise symptoms.

on thursday there will be an "evening just for tinnitus" in an university in berlin!! i saw a brochure and it is written that they found something against this permanent sound!!

have you already checked your back, your muscels there, your brain and -i couldn`t find the word for this, sorry!- it is right under your throat and gives hormons, when it works too hard/much, you are able to eat a lot and you don`t get fat and if this organ don`t work too good you only have to look at something to eat and you are taking lbs/kg immediatly.... hm, do you know what i mean??

i wish you all the best and i will inform you a.s.a.p.

sincerely

dear Piggie,

sorry for being soooo late, BUT i have some information for you:

they found a new "stategie" for/against "Tinnitus".
=> there are very, very little hairs INSIDE your ear and
when they are "sick or dead" you hear the permanent
sound!
since one week i try new tablets which are called "OYO"
(it gives your body the missing oxygen (which rebuilts
these hairs). but if you have the tinnitus since a long
time, your brain thinks that there is still the sound -
even when it is gone!- if so, you have to join a
"retraining center", where your brain forgets this sound!!

the doctors also found another reason:
(it is already so difficult to explain it but it is getting worse !)
when you wake up in the morning, do you have pain in your mouth?? - your teeth, the muscles or the jawbone?
maybe you can ask your doc, if he can see if you crunch (gnash?) your teeth....

(hope it was not too difficult to understand what i tried to explain sorryyyyy!)

i wish you good luck
sincerely
Tanni
