Unhappy

I think it should read "for", not "against" hayfever..
Anyway..

As soon as flowers and trees beginn to bloom it starts: red, watery eyes, running nose, sneezing..
I´m sure some of you know the symptoms.
Is there anything you can do against it!! I mean something that works?
Probably you can recommend somthing herbal for I don´t know if Germany has the same medicine that you haven in Great Britain/the USA.

Thanks,

Anneli

Exclamation :)

good morning anneli,

since i was 12, i had such a bad hayfever with all these problems (eyes, nose, iching skin and asthma- great that i am a "heavy" smoker now !).

at the age of 16 i started "desensibilisierung" -sorry, i only know the german word- and it was nearly gone!

at the beginning they give you small injections with all these things you are allergic against (real "pollen") and your body develope "antikörper".
but you can`t start this in summer (high season for hayfever ) because it is too much work to do for your body.

sorry for this poor explaination, but ask your doctor for "desensibilisierung" i know a lot of people -include me- who are nearly cured.
good luck
Tanni

thanks Tanni, I know about the "Desensibilisierung" but since it often doesn´t work I´ve never tried it. I will though, if it won´t get better.

My mother had all the "desensibliseir" but to no avail.
She went about all spring & into summer with her eyes swollen shut & her nose running like a tap. Nose red, all the way to her eyes. Not a pretty sight. Then came Anthisan, the first of the antihistamin drugs, wunderbar! not so much as a sniffle for the rest of her long life.

I know a cure!!!!!!

I read about it in Prevention Magazine, it's been tested, and i think i improved it's effectiveness.

The great thing about it is it's inexpensive and all natural!!! Ya ready?

HONEY.

Here's the thing... if you have spring hayfever you have to start in winter, because it takes time to help.

All you do is you buy local honey collected in the season in which you have allergies. In general, spring honey is light in color, mid-summer medium in color, and late summer is dark in color. Ask the beekeeper if you can.

Then, all you have to do is take a teaspoon of honey a day. Period. Aawwwwwhhhh, rough! Take your medicine!

Prevention magazine (which did not emphasize local and seasonal honey, said that in case studies most of the test subjects taking a teaspoon of honey a day showed reduced hayfever symptoms, and for some their symptoms disappeared entirely!

I've told a bunch of friends about this and they've all improved except one... who is alergic to Cottonwood... apparently Cottonwood isn't pollenized by bees.

I guess honey works through desensitization, which is why i thought local, seasonal honey would improve it's effectiveness, though i wouldn't put it past the bees to have done something with the pollen that makes it easier for our bodies to tolerate it. Honey does have antiseptic qualities to it, for instance.

Aren't bees amazing critters?

So... take your medicine... it wouldn't hurt to start now, but i'd give it til next year to take effect. Good luck!
