Whitlow

A Whitlow ( sometimes known as Whittle) is formed under the finger nail it is like a boil and is very painful usually the finger swells and is very hot.

Babz there is no known home remedy cure that I have heard of, bathing your finger in warm salt water (or as hot as you can bear it) will help a little but usually the finger nail needs to be lanced, that would be done with a local anaesthetic or an antibiotic would be prescribed.
