Unhappy Oh your poor dear!

I did that a few months ago, actually i broke all 5 toes at the top, the big toe is what you put your weight on so the best advice is to stay off it for a few days, i used ice to keep the swelling down and took a good painkiller. My doctor said a splint for toes usually wasn't done so I made sure I babied them...have you noticed yet that when you hurt yourself you tend to bang the injured part alot...if you have to stand at home for a bit, ie do dishes put your injured leg on a chair, it helped me, i might have looked silly but who cares? It hurt less! Jacobite Dreamer might have some excellant advice as will our Mamie. I suffered through it but I'm not medically inclined. Big hug and hope it heals soon!

Babying the toe...

To warn you although it may seem necessary to baby your toe but shifting weight off of it onto the other side of your foot, could lead to more damage than you wish. It has been proven that favoring an foot injury could lead to back problems and knee problems. The best bet for you is, is to actually stay off of it as much as possible. Use ice water to keep the swelling down, or some Epson salt in ice water.
Think that is about it...oh and make sure to frequent your doctor to see if the bone is resetting properly.

Cheers
