Question

I have read through many a book and they often mention using dock leaves as a type of "band-aid" does it really work? What are some other types of herbal and plant first aid?

if you are interested in natural remedies, archangel, there's a book by andrew weil called "natural health, natural medicine". i love this book. i suggest you check it out.

Dock is the traditional remedy for stinging nettle rash and they grow in close proximity.

Echinacea works to boost the immune system but generally before you try any herbal remedies get a good book or learn from a good herbalist. Herbal remedies mishandled can kill.

I read the book and it was great! It answers all the information I was looking for. But I've got another question what exactly is a poultice? I've heard it several times mentioned in the same book I was reading before. Does anyone know about any other books that would be an addtional resource??

Myrrh is good for infections of the mouth, comfrey is a great herb for breaks and strains of ligaments and bones, arnica is a fantastic healer for bruises and swellings, witch hazel is very handy as an astringent (face and skin for rest of body) and calendula is a great all-rounder for over-all healing
