Question

Does any one know about any "cures" that will help with the cold. Tea I've heard helps.

Not sure there IS one. I had not heard of the tea cure, but I had always heard that onion soup, and garlic, would help, but that if you try to cure your cold, you might get rid of it within a week - if not, it might last as long as 7 days!

Good luck in your quest!

I have started taking daily multivitamins and I rarely get sick. When a cold strikes I take vitamin C tablets and Echinacea. My Grandmother and Mom swear by it. Echinacea tea is also really good.

Talking Cold cure

I think there's nothing like a good wee
toddy (that's whisky,lemon and hot
water) and a good day in bed!! Another
thing helps for some is a packet of
"Lemsip" we call it here in Oz. This consists
of a Packet of Lemon particles topped up with
boiling water in a mug then a good long sleep.
This together with the partaking of daily
vitamins does help keep colds or flu at bay
Cheers!

Re: Cold cure

Okay, first of all, hot lemon juice with sugar will help a great deal. Then, the common things to make tea and steam baths with: thyme, sage, camomille, coltsfoot. This is for fighting the coughing and the sneezing. Against the fever, there is nothing better than verbaine and lavender. And to make you sleep sweet and sound, hot tea with honey will do a good job. Against the headache, willowbark will help, but you can just as well take aspirine, it is the same stuff.

Oh and as for the Toddy, give it a try! If you don't like it, pass it over to me. LOL It's really great stuff!

yes, take echinacea tincture AS SOON AS you even start to get the tiniest feeling that you are getting sick. (take lots!!) eat cloves of raw garlic as soon as possible. dice it up and put it in pasta or something. zinc, zinc, zinc! vitamin c! drink sooooo much water that you have to use the loo every half-hour. yeah, and if the water you drink is hot (like tea), even better! eat soup, drink the toddy, and take care of yourself.
