Yes, Berlin is a bit different from the rest of Germany with regard to rules etc.

Hey, did you say "good old Jacobites"? That was nice! Well, I have Jacobite ancestors and all in all it is a fascinating chapter of history... But I have some friends (even in Scotland!)who share my interest and my opinion. You should see my room, Mhairi ! It is a jacobite dungeon, hehehe! Got Prince Charlie's portrait on the wall and the portrait of Bonnie Dundee on my desk. Well, well, I think I'd better change the topic now...

Got to go now, too. Today and tomorrow are the last two days of my dissection course... Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!

Hiya!

Woah I don't especially like dissection, to be honest...

Bonnie Prince Charlie?
Well, I think in this special case history is a bit oberload... nothing against the Jacobites, great chapter of history, no question, but I guess all this Bonnie Prince Charlie stuff is made up for tourists and people who need a heroe in front of them and don't want to see the real face of a man...would like to meet him in his days and see what's true...maybe the same as Bonaparte, just a small, paraniod alcoholic reaching for the stars and not giving a **** about his inferiors...that's what I think, though it might give me loads of enemies out of the Bonnie Prince Charlie supporters fan club..I guess he didn't want freedom for Scotland but only the crown for himself...
he didn't know enough about his responsibility.
The Clans supported him, of course, but in my opinion he abused their loyality, otherwise he wouldn't have pushed forward an army that was much closer to starving than anything, and the tragedy on Drummossie Moor would never have happened...

Ok this does belong to another forum

I don't know much about my ancestors, I just know that some of them are french, mixed with scottish refugees and algerians, and half of my family is Irish, that's why I'm studying in Dublin...anyway, my language is completely out of order cos nobody could ever chose which one to use at home...so my english is better than my french, or even german (did I tell you I've got a german grandfather?), but all of them are not exactly what they could be!

I have never been to Berlin. How is life there?

and after dissection...drain your brain...get totally plastered...it helps! My friend from Bonn calls it "den Festplatte formatiren" tough I don't exactly know what it means...something about deleting data...

Wish you a nice week

bye, Mhairi

Yeak! Of course, this Prince Charlie chapter is a rather nasty one, even for a staunch Jacobite, hehehehe! But this portrait was a present from a friend from Edinburgh for my 20th birthday and I honour it more because of my friend (like a second grandpa for me) than because of the Prince. Dundee is a different case and I have had already enough trouble because of this... Well, well, it all depends on your point of view.

I hate dissection, too. Stinky and rather the job of a butcher. But on the other hand, quite interesting, too. Aw, but I don't want to do it again. We're going to have a bit party next Friday and have "disinfection from within" hehehehe! But I won't stay long because I don't want to let my daughter wait.

Well, life in Berlin is quite rare. A city with about the population of Scotland (5.3 million people)with a homosexual mayor... Queer, loud, colourful. Sometimes I like it, but all in all - too loud, too dirty, too anonymous. But I greatly prefer it to the tiny, mummified atmosphere in Bonn (I did work there some years ago).

Okay, got to go! Cheerio!
