Searching for my grandfather family- named: Falls or Faulds or fall for fauld. There are a number of spelling. He had several cousins in America named Stewart and Campbell that lived in NYC and sponsered the Falls. My great grandfathers name was Robert Falls..no middle name. He was born July 1854 and came here in 1885. My great-grandmothers name was Elizabeth Nelson , born Dec 1855 and came here in 1874. I do not know where they were born or lived in Scotland. Thank you for any help.

Drawn a blank on this one, on our IGI there is no Robert Faulds /Falls born in that year in the UK.
On searching the 1881 Census for Scotland there is a Robert but he is one year older, born in 1853, but we will give you his details anyway.

Home address
26 Orchard Street, Renfrew, Renfrewshire.

Father was Andrew Faulds age 59 widower, blacksmith
Robert Faulds son age 28 commercial clerk, shipbuilding
Andrew Faulds son age 21 Iron turner,
All three were born in Renfrew.
sorry to have been no more help to you.

Smile Thank you!

Dear Mahar,
Thank you so very much for the information. I know it isn't my great-grandfather, but I got excited anyway, it was the first time I have received any information on a Falls/Faulds. I'll keep trying.

Falls/Faulds

After going back to my copy of the USA 1900 Census, and realized that his mother and father were born in Ireland. Did your search of the UK mean that Ireland was include? I guess I;m grasping for any information. Thank you again for your help.
