McElwrath

Have searched all my records and csnnot find the actual name Mc Elwrath. The nearest match so far is the one below but will keep looking.

McGrath

The names McGrath and Magrath in Ireland both derive from the native Gaelic MagRaith Sept. Counties Fermanagh and Clare were the principal settlement points, this latter Sept being identified with the powerful O'Brien Sept and descendants of which are far more often found than that of the Northern Sept.
We had a Minister in Aberdeen named Mc Ilwraithe of St Ninian's church, but that was in the 1940s

regards
Marhar
