I think I may come from Clan Keith. My grandmother was an orphan in the Quarrier's home in Glasgow. Her mother's name was Lillian, but was often called Lily due to her frail health and pale skin (which I have inherited). Lily died when she was 26 and my grandmother was 4. My grandmother, Annie Farmer (last name given by Quarriers) came to Canada when she was 15, in October 1932, on a ship called the Letitia that came to port at Quebec. Lily had 2 sisters - Jessie and one other whose name I do not know. Apparently they all had the same mother but different fathers. Lily apparently passed away from some illness (perhaps consumption) that is treatable nowadays. My grandmother has no idea who her father was. I have a request into Quarriers now and their archivist is to get back to me, but I'm wondering if anyone out there might have some helpful anecdotal information.
