Hi

Can anyone help me, I am trying to find out more about the Campbell Johnstone family from Galloway? Pearson Campbell Johnstone(my great great great Grandfather) was from Galloway we think, but definitely from Scotland! Pearson married Elizabeth Grahame Johnstone and they had four children my great great Grandfather John Campbell Johnstone(b.1854 d.1940), two girls Elizabeth Grahame Johnstone and Lucy and another son possibly called Campbell(hmm sounds a bit odd I know!). John Campbell Johnstone(my great great Grandfather) lived in London as a teenager and then bought an estate in Sussex. We know quite a bit about him but not about the rest of his family and in particular his parents, so if anyone can shed any light I would be most grateful! We believe the Campbell Johnstones were related to the 1st Baron Campbell of St. Andrews, as the Baron had a sister called Lindsay who maried David Johnston(e) Esq. of Overton and this is, we think, where the Campbell Johnstone name begins. Any information would really help me as I am writing a book on my family history, also any information on the Johnston(e) family would help - if anyone knows anything about David Johnston(e) Esq. of Overton that would be a great help too!

Many Thanks
Caroline Haire

Hi Ana

Welcome to Scotland.com.

Jibby opened this thread over 8 years ago, last posted anything on the forum some 7 years ago and last visited the site more than 5 years ago so I'm afraid you're unlikely to find out from here if she wrote the book.
