Hello again from NZ
A question regarding my husband's genealogy. An ancestor of his, a "Mr McAlpine" left Greenoch, Scotland on the barque the "Brilliant" in December 1940 to come to New Zealand. Does anyone have any information about this man - in searches we have never located his christian name - he is called in one article "the young Mr McAlpine". Grateful for any help. cya Margaret

Sorry Marhar, yes I did mean 1840. No, we have no knowledge of where in Scotland McAlpine came from, or his age, and have tried to locate a passenger list with more details but have had no luck.
