Graham family ancestors question

I know my great Grandpa's last name was Graham but I never knew him and my grandmother never kept track of our family heritage...that I know of but I was wondering is there a way to do a dna test to confirm a family connection even if you don't know any family relatives of the Graham name?

The stickt post by Scotsite at the the top of this section explains how to start your investigation.

The first thing is to track your ancestry back to the first immigrant to your country. From there, check immigration records and that may lead you to a specific area or family in Scotland.
