Jameson & Paton
People with surenames Jameson or Paton, whose ancestors were in Scotland about 1800.
My great-great-great grand father born in Edinburgh in 1796, his name was William Jameson, I know much about him, but I do not know who his parents were. In familysearch he is like William Paton Jameson, the only family with those surename was the family of Robert, Robert William and Leander Starr Jameson, but Mrs Paton Jameson died in 1794, acording this web, so she can not be his mother, but her husband called Thomas Jameson, like a son of my ancestor, maybe they were related between them. Acording Harvard Library, look this link: Jameson, William, 1796-1873. Papers of William Jameson, 1827-1869: A Guide My ancestor had a sister called Elizabeth Ann Paton (no Jameson?), and a niece called Hope Brown Paton, and other relative I. G. Paton. His family has got a House called "The Wilde" Adress: Broughtey Ferry-Edimburgo in wikipedia: William Jameson - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I'm unable to help.
BUT That would be Broughty Ferry and Edinburgh - but they are not close in geographical terms!
