DG, a couple of suggestions for your Contin-ental enquiries.
Have you thought of joining the Highland Family History Society? quarterly journal (recently jazzed up!) welcomes queries, and a new visitor centre in Inverness, concentrating the records.
Highland Family History Society

"The Munro's of Culcairn" by Alexander Ross, in the Celtic Magazine No 10, 1885, also the "Munro's of Milntown", same issue. Might this be accessible online? (haven't read these).

"After the Forty-Five" by A.J.Youngson, 1973, Edinburgh University Press, (I fancy this myself). If this Youngson is the same guy who was the Minister of Jura & Easterhouse (nae difference!) I've met him.

I found Cromartie's, "A Highland History", online @ £16.

wullie.

Highland archives

Well I am planning a trip up to Inverness next year. There are a couple of things I want to look at both in the Highland Council archives in Inverness and also Inverness Library.
