I might be able to help you out in some small way since my MacRae's were called MacKenzies shirt of mail - and is connected to the MacKenzie name as far back as around the late 1200's - and they Intermarried as well -- I won't be much help on your side of the ocean (or pond as it is called in Europe) but might be able to lend a hand if you find a relative that came to the colonies - and if I could ask you to share what you have on your side, it would be appreciated

i cannae help ye wi your digging but ma grandad was a mackenzie frae inverness,and i,ll be in achiltibuie with ma twins in a couple o' weeks.i,v been there and to reiff many times.being theregg makes mi feel like nothing else can.my kids who are 12 havegg never been,ma heart is in the highlands.
