I am looking for any information about my great grandmother born Marth M. Gibson 1881 or 1882 in Bellshill, Scotland. She came to USA and married my great grandfather Henry W Patton. I am looking for her parents info , siblings? anything that can help me. Thank you.

The lines where Glasgow ends and the surrounding towns/counties start has become blurred over the centuries - a bit like Edinburgh and its environs.

I'm not au fait with many places on the West Coast, but the county town of Lanarkshire is Lanark - and all I remember is that they have a Lanimer Fair with a Lanimer Queen, in the early summer...

You mustn't confuse our counties with the American equivalent! They are not the same sort of thing at all.
Yes, Lanarkshire is a Scottish county with its own County Town.
Read the Lanarkshire site, there appeared to be a lot of info on there.

As I have said,I am not a Westie - that part of the country is foreign territory to me!

Charles Gibson, Brother, age 17, Coal miner born Denny, Stirlingshire.
Thomas Milldoun,Age 68, Father in law. Ret. miner born Morningside, Lanarkshire
James Milldoun age 14, grand/son, coal miner, born, Wishaw. Lanarkshire
All born in and around Lanarkshire except Charles
