Scone Myles Family

Am looking for any information on Myles family from Abbey Road, Scone (Perthshire).

Also, Myles family originally Arbroath, later Errol and Kinfauns and Aberdargie who emigrated to Perth, Western Australia before World War One. (Have important information to share).

Hi Graeme

My father grew up in Scone in Highfield Road after his father died. The family originally came from a farm near a village of Kilspindie off the Perth Dundee road. He moved with my mother to the top of Abbey road when they bought their 1st house - it was near the Highfield Road turn off. The family originated in the village of Liff on the outskirts of dundee

Hello Grahame & Marion,
My g-grandfather was John McLaren Myles from Abbey Road who was married to marjory Robertson , then became widowed & remarried to a Grace McNab.
one of his daughters Marjory married Archibald Young (i dont think they were married long)?.....i maybe wrong here but think they went to U.S.A but Marjory came back here after around 1 year or less.
Unfortunaly my mother died several years ago before i started doing family history , i'm sure she would have had a wealth of information to tell me as she spent a lot of her youth in Scone.
I would love to know more about my Myles side of family ,if you would be willing to enlighten me please ....i only know bits & bobs.
was the house in Abbey road big? as it seems many Myles family lived there

best wishes ,
Kiowa.

Hi Kiowa

I rather suspect that there was more than 1 myles family in Scone. I do not remember any others when I was growing up but given that face that I am now retired that is not surprising. We as a family moved away from Scone when I was approx 13.
