Arrow Bannatyne (Glasgow & Kintyre) MacKinnon (Bute) Eadie & Burden (Glasgow) Muir (Mearns)

Hello

I am directly descended from above Families. My Archibald Bannatyne married a Janet MacKinnon (Kerr) Kilmory 1815. Seven children later including my GGG Father William MacKinnon Bannatyne, all these Bannatyne had left by 1851 (?). My Eadie Thomson Burden links are from Glasgow with Mary Burden Bannatyne my GGMother.

Also Benjamin Denoon (Ross & Cromarty) & the Allison and Morrison Families of Edinburgh and Glasgow. Brewers, spirit merchants, grocers & fleshers, two teachers, a few renegades, miners, several very independent women (Eadie and Burden Banntyne), one murderer, teetotallers and strong religious people figure in my Family.

All of these and the Muir (Mearns & Glasgow) McArtney/McArthur & McLay (Auchinleck & Glasgow), Wares (Mearns Caithness & Glasgow) are on my 82 year old nee: Bannatyne Mother.

Apparently her Mother Allison Muir McArthur escaped the clan like tension and religious demands in 1921, to come to Australia with her John Burden Bannatyne husband. (He was the renegade)

I have a lot of info and verified resources on this line of ancestors / descendants. I'd like to find some relatives. It is impossible to find the Bannatynes as an outsider of the Kilmory Community. And not much on Donald MacKinnon nor Barbary Barbara Kerr Kerr. Janet MacKinnons parents.

As I said, I'd like to link up with real relatives. No professional genealogists please. Gotta be Family ! Much of the info I have has not been documented. I've ploughed through GROS Edinburgh. The Latter Day saints site I use occassionally. I'm an Ancestry.com member- Only for the immigation to the World - USA, Canada and Us here in Australia. And theres got to be some out there !!

Bronwen

Hope you can make some headway in your search!

BTW - I don't think there were many 'clan' tensions in 1921!

Probably not ie warfare. However Family feuds can & do go on for centuries.

Sorry - I took your meaning as Clans as in say, a MacDonald against a Stewart or a Campbell against a MacIntyre.

Family feuds - well, I've had a few of them in my own lines.
