Hi, I am new to this discussion forum,I'm interested in the Hamilton family. Is that a common Scottish name?

Hello there, and welcome.

I'm no genealogist, but I can safely say that "Hamilton" is a pretty common surname here. It is also the name of a town in Lanarskhire, so, there you are! You have a whole town!

Great, always wanted a town. I'm traveling to Scotland this year and really looking forward to it. I've been reading this forum for awhile now and have enjoyed it, glad I signed on.
