I suspect the anger is my calling into question her 'quite a bit' of Scottishness. .

To let you know my Scots ancestors left Scotland and stayed gone, for reasons that are becoming increasingly clear to me.
Shut up, she explained.

Toaping Castle

Was there ever a Toaping Castle in Northern Ireland in the 1700s? I cannot find any reference to it in any searches that I have initiated in the past 3 years. The castle belonged to one Isaac Walker born 1721 in Scotland.

I've heard about it but from writings of old family members born and raised in the U.S. - but nothing from any Scottish source.

One source says it is but a fable and another says it was a real castle.
