McGinn/Kerr/Carr Blantyre

I'm seeking any information re my mother's natural father.
Grandmother was Annie McGinn, Aerated Water Worker, and my mother was born at 52 Forrest Street, Blantyre, on 22 August 1920.
Father's name not on birth certificate, but I believe it was Kerr or Carr or similar.Obviously, gmother was unmarried at that time.
I want to trace any of my relatives on his side.
Also, to make contact with any McGinn's or descendants/relatives of McGinn's.
Because I'm in voluntary bankruptcy due to consequences of heart bypass surgery and thus early retirement, I do not have credit card access to internet genealogy sources. I try what I can through such marvellous sites as this one, and hope.

My only suggestion then is if you haven't already found it post a query on Lanark FHS since Blantyre is in Lanark.
