McGirts still in Scotland?

My name is David McGirt and I am from Richmond, Virginia. I am doing a fmily tree and in my research I found a few McGirts in Scotland. The last record I found of a McGirt in Scotland was one John McGirt in Renfrewshire in 1850. I wish to try and find out if there are still McGirts in Scotland. I am not sure how to go about it. Any tips and/or leads would be great!!!
