Decendants of Innes from Aberdeen
Hi
I would like to contact anyone if they are a descendant of an Innes, my fathers name was Robert Davidson Innes and his parents lived at Gairn Terrace,Aberdeen, he had two brothers named Dodd who was a bus driver who lived at Walker Place,Aberdeen and another Torry who lived in Dundee and worked for a newspaper. He also had 3 sisters called Violet, Jean and Molly so I guess I would now be trying to contact any of these peoples descendants. I am the youngest daughter of Robert D. Innes and my mothers name was Catherine (Kate) Ann Gatt Innes. Thankyou so much hope I hear from some of you. Kindest Regards Sheila |

Innes Aberdeen
Hi:
I believe my ggg grandfather was Charles Innes b. 31 Oct 1801 in Kennethmont. He was a blacksmith. Spouse information: Married Isabella Glegg 4 Jan 1817 St Nicholas Aberdeen. Her father was Alexander Glegg Ships Master deceased at time of marriage. Children: Alexander Innes c. 1818 St Nicholas Charles Innes c. 31 Jan 1821 St Nicholas (my gg g/father) Jane Innes c. 1823 William Innes c. 1825 George Innes c. 1828 James Innes c. 1830 Mary Ann Innes c. 1834 Other: My gg grandfather married Jane Fraser at Boat of Garten on the 31 Dec 1846. They migrated to Australia (Hobart Tasmania) in 1853 courtesy of the HIES. NB I only recently started researching this line and havent yet conclusively proved that my Charles Innes and this Charles Innes are one and the same. Thanks |

Hi there. I believe the Mary Ann INNES listed above is a possible match for my ancestor. I wondered if you'd found out anymore with regard to the other children's arrival in Hobart?
Mary Ann Innes shows up in 1858 getting married to a Joseph Evans. They have 3 children on the Victorian goldfields, then Mary Ann is next found in Hobart living with Charles TILLACK where she has another 8 children fathered by him. I do not know yet what happened to Joseph Evans. I wonder whether this Mary Ann is a match and whether perhaps she went to Hobart as she already had family there by way of your ancestors. More research required to confirm this is my Mary Ann of course. |

Charles Innes
Quote:
I am researching my Scottish Ancesters. I believe my GGG Grandfather was Charles Innes, he married Isabella Glegg 4/1/1817. My GG Grandfather was George Innes born 16/2/1828. He went to London where he married Mary Charlotte Turner a publicians daughter in 1851. They had a son George Alexander born 11/4/1852, he was my Great Grandfather. For reasons best known to him he severed all contact with his parents and that is why I have no knowledge of my Scottish Ancesters. Could my GG Grandfather George Innes be the same one as in your family? Thankyou |
