Question bryce family sct

Isabell Bryce born Sept 26 1813 Barony Sct, m William Young About 1838 in USA. They settled in Canada near Simcoe Ontario.Isabells parents Elizabeth Gardner and Robert Bryce were married in Barony in 1804. These sure go back a long way, but that is what genealogy is all about. The last two mentioned are my ggg grandparents, any relatives out there ?

Glad to find someone of the Bryce lineage! My ggg grandparents came from the Lanarkshire, Old Monkland area of Scotland. His name was William Robert Bryce and his wife was Mary Wright. They came to Canada in 1820-21 with 8 children ages 24-5 years of age. They settled in Elphin County up near Ottawa. Two of the boys moved to Watford, Ontario, Canada, one my gg grandfather, Robert and his brother James. James then moved over to St. Clair, Michigan where even today there are lots of Bryces. I still have cousins and relatives in Watford, Wyoming, Sarnia, and from one end of Canada to the other. Bryce Canyon in Utah was also named for a relative! I'm sure all the Bryce's are related since I have a friend who has found that there is a Bryce castle in Scotland, yes it is a ruin, but it still is a castle. I have been working on the Bryce geneology for a while and it seems that the Bryces keep poping up from unexpected places!! Maybe we could colaborated on some of the geneology? Would love to hear from you. candy

Bryce Family

Hello Candy
I have just noticed your post and wondered if there is a link between our families. My roots appear to start in Paisley Abbey, Renfrew and there are other links to Old Monkland. You can peruse the tree online, let me know if you can establish a link.

Candy lasted visited this site (just) over seven years ago. As a consequence, I doubt if she'll notice your post.

Bryce Hanging.

Candy, the last public hanging in Edinburgh was a Bryce, there's a brass plate marks the spot, his uncle, another Bryce, was hanged there before him. Plenty of Bryce's, they're probably no relation. wullie m.
