Hi Lynn

Know you posted this a long time ago, but wondered how far you got with this. Adam Brown and Margaret are my 4xgrandparents.

My great-great-great grandfather (whose name was William Jameson, born in Edimburgh, 1796) had a niece called Hope Brown Paton, born in Forfar (Angus) in 1844. Her parents were Elisabeth Ann Jameson and John G. Paton. Other child of them was called Ann Greig Paton, born 1846. Bouth of them were christened in Monifieth (Angus). But I do not know why the first is Brown and the second Greig if bouth have the same parents.
Hope got marriage with Easton Gibb.
Jameson Family has a House called "The Wilde" in Broughty Ferry (Dundee), in the Angus area.
I got the info from my own family, familysearch.org and this site: Library of the Gray Herbarium

I apology for my English, but I am hispanic.

Middle names were very often associated with either set of grandparents - these may have been the maiden names of the children's grandmothers.
