Go to the airport, hop a plane to Edinburgh. Take a cab to the Royal Mile and find a friendly looking pub. Ask the people there what they suggest, order it and eat it. That is the perfect scottish meal! AND, well worth the cost!

Send a message via ICQ to SweetOne
Now that sounds like fun. Maybe I'll have to do that this year

However, a close second is cock a leeky soup, followed by a well roasted beef with tatties, neeps and bread. Cheese, whisky, cranchan and shortbread.
You could sub scotch broth for the soup. Haggis is a must, but only if done weel!

Haggis is everything edible from a sheep cooked in the stomac alog with oats, onions and other spices. It's really pretty good, tastes a bit like liver sausage. Cranachan in a cream cheese type base with yogurt, toasted oats, honey, whisky and raspberries mixed in! YUMMY

Don't be put off by how Kathyv describes Haggis, it's great! Haggis, neeps and tatties. Oooh, bliss. Cranachan is fab. Haven't had it ages.

I'll rustle up a haggis when you're over (if I can catch one )

If you're looking for an authentic Scots meal, just grap whatever's to hand, cover it in batter and deep fry. Why, oh why did they ever invent the deep fried Mars Bar???

Dewa mata, Karasu.
