Can be eaten by vegetarians or adapted for meat eaters.

1 lb. Tofu/Meat
1 oz. Flour
1 oz. Dry Breadcrumbs
1 Medium onion(chopped)
Black Pepper
4 fl.oz. Dry Red Wine
1/4 pt. Vegetable Stock(Beef stock)

Oven Temp. 330 F/150 C/Gas Mark 2

Cut the Tofu/Meat into cubes, put into a casserole dish.

Mix together the breadcrumbs, flour, onion, wine, stock and black pepper.

Pour over the Tofu/Meat and mix together.

Cover and cook in the oven slowly for about three hours.

Serve with rice or noodles.

This could be cooked in a slo-cooker too.

Babz,

Tofu is often difficult to cook properly as it needs something spicy or full of flavour to give it a kick...but I will certainly give this a try.

Ta much

Not being a vegetarian can you explain why Tofu can be difficult to
cook.

Which spices are best to add to give it more flavour ??

Tofu on its own has no flavour, so needs to be given something strong to give it flavour.

It can be marinaded to get the flavour, but the quick fix is the chill based sauces especially when stir frying.

Have only tried baking (instead of meat) and that also helps get the flavour into it.

It is an acquired taste.

What no more meat. I cannot survive without chicken. Other meats I would
be willing to give a miss.

Daren't tell you what I had for dinner today...<LOL>

Babz

PS. Will wait for other suggestions with baited breath.
