Your Tattie scones

Pototo Oven scones

6 oz Cooked Mashed potato
8 oz of Plain flour (all purpose flour)
a pinch of salt
3 oz Butter or Margarine
water to mix

Method :- Mix the salt into the flour and rub in the butter.
Add the Mashed potato and mix well.
pour in just enough water to make a stiff dough.
Roll the dough out on a well-floured board, to about
1 inch thickness and cut into small rounds with a
pastry cutter. Bake at 450F. for about 10 minutes
or until nicely brown.

These scones should be split and served with butter

Marhar Happy baking

Tattie Scones

Marhar Tattie scones should be fried.

personaly I love then fried till they are burnt then smothered with tomato sauce.
I also make my own.A Sunday special in my house' they are never more than 1/4" thick. The shop bought ones are even thinner
Tattie scones are not the same as fruit scones or cheese scones

Thumbs up

Thank everyone you are all great

my father used to make tatties scones every sunday night with the left over mashed tatties from the sunday roast beef dinner. my sisters and i used to just sit in awe as he was mixing the dough and frying them in the pan and smothering them with butter (well stork margarine) and kept them in the oven to soak up the excess butter. MMMMMMMMMMMMMM i can just taste them now.

thanks again guys
