Scones

try folding in...mini chocolate chips, raisons, dried cherries, cranberries, etc. also brush the tops with milk or cream and sprinkle with sugar before baking, they will be more moist. oh yeah you have to soak raisons(I like rum or Grand Marnier) before you use them or they'll soak up all the moisture. you get more scones out of your recipie if you cut them into triangles. hope this helps.

Talking great ideas..

thanks margiecat....they all sound sooooo good! How would orange rind candy work do you think? I bet you have heard of making candy from citrus fruit peels. yes? I make them mainly at christmas.
I can imagine orange and cranberry with the cream and sugar on top. What is the official name of the larger granules of sugar that I sometimes see on baked goods? IS there a separate name and do you know it?...I am sure its something simple but I haven't noticed them in grocery stores before. wow. I didn't know that about the raisins! thanx!!

Talking hey lynette

yum, I bet candie orange peel would do fine, people put it in cakes, i find it very overpowering, so you might want to mince it. um I think that sugar is called bakers sugar, its mostly for show. you could also add chopped nuts or really any thing you want. I find that parchment paper works better, and is cleaner than cooking sprays, also always use it to line your cake pans and they'll never stick! well see ya around.

I was in two minds wether or not to reply to you but I will anyway. What do
you mean 'the English can't cook'

I am English and am a very good cook. Could be the fact that my parents are
Scottish, I am not too sure that where you are born has anything to do with
how you cook, its the experience and training that that you get.

Unhappy sorry!!

so sorry...absolutley no insult intended....certainly did not mean that that english people personally can't cook, but, just some of the traditional English dishes might be a bit bland is all. I certainliy meant it tongue in cheek and not seriously...sorry)-:
