There's nothing quite like a good tattie scone at any time of day.
Supermarket ones are just pish, but when you go to a good bakery you cannot beat them.

But to make them myself, come on babz, tell us how !

Heres one of your requests.

2lb. Potatoes(diced)
2 Carrots(diced)
1 Turnip(diced)
1 Leeks(chopped)
1 Cup Carrot(Grated)
3 pints of Beef Stock(made from 2lb.marrow bones)
Parsley(finely chopped)
Salt and Pepper

Put the diced carrot, turnip, leeks, seasoning and stock into a large pan.

Bring to the boil and simmer covered for 1 hour. Add the diced potatoes and grated

Shona you probably won't be able to get marrow bones (due to the BSC scare) I use chicken or vegetable stock cubes for the base of my tattie soup.

Thanks Domino for pointing that out, I usually use a chicken carcass for
getting my stock and have also used a pork hock. They both make good stock.

You want to think about us vegetarians - we don't want beef or chicken or pork for the stock.

What's wrong with the taste of good wholesome vegetables or vegetable stock ?
