Unhappy

Can anyone help in a recipe for this, I did make them when my children were younger but don't remember how.

I have a vague notion that I remember friends making them for Girl Guides or something, and their method involved icing sugar and mashed potato for the filling. Is that as silly as it sounds? OK - best I could come up with. Tell you what, I'll make sure I buy one tomorrow in the interests of pure research. Ever helpful, me.

Um, it's me again. It looks as though I was almost right. (Am very surprised - thought it was memory playing tricks). Anyway, I quickly looked on Google, and this one came up, so I hope it's what you were looking for. It even looks trouble-free enough for me to try. Have fun.

Hi, Elly-May, guess who! So, today, after carefully buying healthy food, I felt a sudden need to get a Lee's Macaroon Bar, (which I haven't done for years) and I blame you. But I thought it might amuse you to read their ingredients list. Careful - "amuse" might not be the best word here!

Quote:
Sugar, glucose syrup, dry roasted coconut, hydrogenated vegetable oil, whey powder, breadcrumbs, fat reduced cocoa powder, dried egg albumen, invertase, flavouring, emulsifier E322, Stabiliser E405, Salt.
And 100 grammes (just under 4 oz.) of this has 403 calories!

Tasted nice though!

Celyn what things we have to do to help others.

I hope that the pounds that you put on eating the macaroon bar were worth it.

I would have shared it with you.

When I used to make them I also put mashed potato in, but Lee's can't as it wasn't in the ingredients,
wonder if we should tell them!

Buy another one just to make sure that you got the contents right and send me some!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks

Elly-may
