Shortbread recipe

Here's a recipe for shortbread that I have from an old British cookbook -

4 oz. butter
2 oz. sugar
8 oz. flour
Dash of salt

Makes one 7" round of shortbread

1. Cream together butter and sugar until very soft and
fluffy
2. Beat in flour and salt
3. Gently roll out until about 1" thick and put it in a
greased 7" round baking pan. If it's too difficult to
roll out, simply spread the pastry evenly into the pan.
Be careful not to handle the dough too much, as this can
make it tough.
4. Prick the surface all over with a fork, and lightly mark
it into triangles.
5. Bake in a pre-heated 250 degree(F) oven for about 45
minutes, or until light golden brown.
6. When cool, break or slice into triangles along the marks
you made.

Hope this works for you.
