Or coat the bacon with panko crumbs mixed with pinhead oats and deep fry. Add the gravy you made, maybe a wee drop of fish sauce in the gravy (Thai nam pla, Philippine patis) ?

I asked Jim if he wanted to try it, he is not a vegetarian and his reply was - - not in a million years !!

Sounds tasty! Never tasted Philippine patis but should be loads of nam pla available in this neck of the woods.

Next week: Oat & goat tikka massala
