How many of these Gaelic words were originally Gaelic and how many have been "borrowed" from English and altered to suit? Take muga (mug), pana (pan), sinc (sink) and even poit (pot) as potential candidates... working on this theory (and that is all for now that it is) maybe the Gaelic for microwave is microwabh and brevel might be brebhel!

A well known example is the Gaelic for a bicycle (which I can't remember how to spell - but it has a few more letters for sure)

Mind you, English loan-words adjusted to local spelling conventions isn't just for Gaelic by a long shot.

In my wife's case, Filipino (derived almost entirely from Tagalog - the main language of Luzon) has quite a few, of which these are some examples:-
